Description
for SA and piano
The Monkey Within Us draws on the Southeast Asian mythology of monkeys as wise creatures, whose cleverness is often mistaken for mischief. Setting a compelling text by Joey Gianan Vargas that is based on the fable of The Monkey and the Crocodile, this energetic piece is strikingly imaginative, yet entirely approachable. Wong combines singing, body percussion, and rhythmic spoken word to bring the drama of the narrative to life in an engaging, theatrical burst of choral colour.
