Description
The perfect planning tool and inspirational gift for the cyclist in your life - suitable for all riders from casual weekend day trippers to committed roadsters. This two-sided large foldout map provides an illustrated planning guide to all of the available National Cycle Networks.
* All the National Cycle Networks in one fold-out map for easy review and planning
* Clear and informative - the map provides inspiration and practical insight for cycle routes
* Challenging, scenic, steep, historic or simply beautiful, the best cycle routes outlined and described
* Packed full of route highlights, tips, hints and places of note.
We map the UK's extraordinary web of over 12,000 miles of interconnecting cycle routes - regional and national - from National Route 1 , the longest signed route in the UK (approx. 1,264 miles), running from Dover to Tain in the Scottish Highlands (and extending to the Shetland Isles), to the urban Greenways or traffic-free Buckinghamshire. The new Irish National Cycle Network (NCN), partially completed, is an additional 2,200 mile network of 85 corridors connecting cities, large towns, and over 200 settlements. Both networks weave through cities, villages and coast roads, up mountains and along valleys providing a vision of the mesh of links around the two islands.
The map, and accompanying text, highlight the best cycle routes in Britain and Ireland, with handy descriptions and boxes to be ticked off on completion. Take it on holiday for the nearest cycling opportunities or plan your holiday around it. Clear and informative, it provides inspiration and practical insight into all of the national trails.
Health-boosting, functional and fun, plan the next glorious cycle with Philip's Cycle Routes of Britain and Ireland.
