Description
Each "Early Years Theme Centre" is based on a popular early years theme and contains: a collection of six theme-related stories and information books for children aged three-to five; and a 128-page activity book full of practical ideas, with one chapter, devoted to each book in the box. All the activities are based on the Early Learning Goals and there are links to the National Literacy and Numeracy Strategies. There are also collections of photocopiable resources including activity sheets, poems and templates. The final page provides 'Extra resources' information, and two full-colour posters (A2). At the start of a theme, the practitioner can open the "Early Years Theme Centre" for a ready-made collection of ideas based on the books and activated inside. The books in this box are: "Homes Teresa Heapy" (Heinemann); "At Home Dorothy Einon and Nila Aye" (Marshall); "Guess Where I Live Anni Axworthy" (Walker); "Harry's Home Catherine and Lawrence Anholt" (Orchard); "A New Room for William Sally Grindley and Carol Thompson" (Bloomsbury); and "Let's Build a House Mick Manning and Brita Granstrom" (Watts).
