Description
The key aspect of this book is to take the reader from elementary knowledge of fluids mechanics in the initial chapters, from physical properties, operating modes, systems, and performance (sophomore level engineering). The latter part of the book will cover quasi-steady models, device design, optimization, nondimensional analysis, control, and application to vibration and shock isolation systems, and energy absorption systems (recoil or crashworthiness systems). The book contains two parts. The first, a description of the theory and science of ER/MR fluids and the second part, a series of case studies and examples from which the reader can extract contextual design guidance and information. The case studies cover automotive, aircraft, and helicopter examples.
