Race to Learn Years 5 and 6 DVD-ROM

Race to Learn brings the excitement of Formula OneTM motor racing to the primary classroom with an easy-to-use interactive DVD-ROM for teachers to use with children aged 9-11. Designed to be a flexible resource, Race to Learn could easily be used intensively over the course of a single themed topic week or fortnight, over the course of an entire term, or as an exciting yet educationally-valuable treat for children. The DVD-ROM fits closely with the cross-curricular theme-based approach to learning increasingly encouraged in primary schools. Working in small groups, children form their own racing teams and undertake a wide variety of tasks, from designing a car to investigating air resistance; from balancing a budget to pitching for sponsorship. Each task is closely linked to the curriculum objectives in key areas of the school curriculum as Science, Maths and Literacy.
