Take a creative approach to problem-solving and reasoning skills! This CD-ROM is about number pyramids, including Pascal's triangle. There are three activities, each of which has one or more whole-class screens and pupil screens for individual pupils or small groups to work with and there are worksheets for pupils to use either at or away from the computer. The curriculum content of this task is: properties of numbers (multiples, primes, square numbers, triangle numbers); directed numbers; constructing formulae, substituting into formulae, and drawing conclusions from formulae; and solving equations. The whole emphasis of the task is problem solving. The problems involve facility with numbers, reasoning about number properties, and multi-step reasoning in order to achieve specified outcomes.
