Simulation Learning System for Lewis et al: Medical-surgical Nursing

Nursing schools nationwide are using simulation technology to connect classroom teaching with clinical experience. "The Simulation Learning System" (SLS) is an online toolkit that helps instructors and facilitators effectively incorporate medium to high-fidelity simulation into their nursing curriculum with scenarios that promote and enhance the clinical decision-making skills of students at all levels. The "SLS" offers a comprehensive package of resources including levelled patient scenarios, detailed instructions for preparation and implementation of the simulation experience, debriefing questions that encourage critical thinking, and learning resources to reinforce student comprehension.Each set of scenarios corresponds to "Lewis: Medical-Surgical Nursing: Assessment and Management of Clinical Problems", reinforcing students' classroom knowledge base, bridging the gap between lecture and clinicals, and offering the remediation component critical to debriefing-where safe, effective clinical application of knowledge is discovered in simulation.
