They're thieves, scavengers, survivors... and his only chance at staying alive. Among them is a sharp-tongued urchin, and her swashbuckling protector. The wererat gang are embroiled in a battle against the city guard, led by a disgraced captain, and a female holy warrior - until a darker power forces them all onto the same side.
As an unseen evil creeps across the kingdom, corrupting everything it touches, Randall and his unlikely companions must travel on an epic journey in search of the truth. They must save themselves, as well as the entire Kingdom from dark forces of evil. Magic may be forbidden - but it might be the only thing that can save them all.
