Persons
Andrzej Kowalczyk (1950) studied geology at the University of Warsaw. (PhD degree at the Technical University of Wroclaw in 1983). He is presently Associated Professor and head of the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology at the University of Silesia, Poland. He participated in various projects in the field of hydrogeology and is author and co-author of 80 scientific articles.
Jaroslav Vrba (1932) received MS and Doctorate from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. He has practiced hydrogeology in many countries for almost 40 years. At present he works in a private consulting practice and as UNESCO consultant for IHP. He chaired and coordinated many UNESCO-IHP groundwater projects and is author, co-author and editor of many articles and books. He is Past Vice President of IAH and Chairman of IAH Commission on Groundwater Protection; appointed honorary member of International Association of Hydrogeologists.
