The Inside Story

Karen is the Vice President for International Ministries with the Global Leadership Network. She has a passion to see men and women leading well together and finds herself speaking to leaders all over the world. She is also the President for the Baptist World Alliance Women's Department and commences her term of service July 2020-July 2025. In this role she will give vision and direction for women globally encouraging them in the work they do in their continental regions. Karen is a gifted communicator and speaks often at conferences and churches across Australia. She is a relational and humorous storyteller who connects with many varied audiences. Her passion is in seeing people challenged and equipped to live life boldly. Having written and published "The Inside Story", Karen explores who we are deep down inside and how to live truly authentically. At her very core, Karen believes that she is meant to live for impact. Whether this be in her family, her work, her ministry or with people she is yet to meet, this drives her choices every day. She is a wife, a mum, a pastor, a speaker, an author and a lover of travel. Karen has spent many years working in nations all over the world and with her faith being the driving motivator, she is passionate about her work with the poor and marginalised and is often found in other nations working amongst those in great need. Karen loves connecting with people from all walks of life and feels compelled to speak up for those who have no voice. She has a strong desire to champion and empower women in leadership and life. Karen has been married to Mark for 34 years and they have a son and daughter who are both married. With a love for long coffees with friends, a great movie and creative spaces, she is not one to be into maintenance but thrives in ever changing and dynamic environments. She has a pioneering and adventurous spirit and is drawn to anything fast and slightly thrilling.
