Have you seen hats or other clothes that claim one size fits all?
Well, this collection of short stories goes in a different direction by having a range of sizes. The shortest stories are only six words long. The book has 14 of those little guys. Outside of that group, the book has 26 stories. The longest story has 6,773 words.
But enough about numbers! What are these stories about? A sample:
Famous authors of mysteries investigate a missing blue diamond necklace.
A question mark is hassled when it visits a beach that's meant only for ampersands.
A woman is questioned by a scout who thinks she might be a princess from another world.
A sushi chef on a cruise ship wonders about a possible guilty party when a passenger dies.
A guy wonders if his father lied about encountering aliens years ago, and if the son will ever see them.

Person
I fell under the spell of books when I was growing up and working in my grandparents' bookstore: Gingerbread Square Books in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware?a small coastal town that's crowded with tourists in the summer months. When I read, I was transported to the world the book conjured.
I still feel this way. The ability of an author to pull you into his or her story is magical. When I thought of what kind of jobs I could possibly be interested in when I eventually became an adult, I wanted to be one of those people who was able to make that magic happen for readers. I still do.
Along the way, I've found the act of creating is also a kind of magic. When I write, I often fall into the story. That joy doesn't happen every time I write, and there are slow times to work through. Frustration is also a part of the process, which makes me value the days when writing clicks well.
I live in Maryland with three wonderful people: my wife Sue and our daughters Tess and Molly.
