Reviews / Votes
Very inspirational and useful for students when presenting their design work, for their public consultations and final year exhibition. No other books on this subject are usually recommended but this will be on the reading list in the future. * Steven Heywood, Leeds Metropolitan University, UK * Very well written and excellently illustrated Basics book. * Henri Goverde, Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands * A good introduction to applied urban design, introducing both key issues in urban design and a good range of case studies. The structure of pages and chapters makes the reading easy. A good case studies tool for architecture and planning students. * Paola Michialino, Newcastle University, UK * The text portions of the book provide both context and intellectual counterpoint to all this graphic stimulation in the form of smartly nuanced distillations of basic urban design concepts. Instructors will appreciate the authors' liberal use of case studies to challenge students to examine and articulate their own understanding. * Choice, January 2011 * As an introduction to urban design, the book is extremely well done, covering just about every possible aspect of the field. * A Weekly Dose of Architecture Blog, 24 August 2010 *More details

The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Adobe-DRM, a „hard” copy protection. If the necessary requirements are not met, unfortunately you will not be able to open the eBook. You will therefore need to prepare your reading hardware before downloading.
