Being married to the job isn't supposed to be a horrible fate...

Dr. Clay Russell has been a committed general surgeon for many years, following in his father's footsteps and saving lives. There's no time for settling down. No opportunities to even meet women outside his grueling hours at the hospital. Flings and unattached sex has never hurt anyone, right? But when he's hoping to be promoted to head of surgery and a nurse is spreading bad rumors about him, he realizes it might look better if he's taken and not so available.

Being evicted, dumped, and fired on the same day isn't supposed to mean rock bottom. Leigh Hale swears she'll figure out how to get back in control of her life after the trifecta of misfortune. All she manages to do is move back into her parents' basement and strike out job hunting. It's a little late for a "gap" year at twenty-nine, especially when her rescue mutt, Cue, causes mayhem everywhere he goes.

The perfect answer lies in a wanted ad. Clay's buddy jokingly drafts a girlfriend-for-hire post, and Leigh's bestie drunkenly applies her for it.

So long as it's a temporary thing and neither of them are looking for real love...why not?
