John and Jaylynn Mogen had just retired, but one phone call from Jaylynn's brother Colonel Carl Justine swept them up into the restoration movement of the red and religious states of the old United States of America. They had formed the "Western Southern Alliance of States". This alliance of states had left the coastal states behind as they slide into socialism and communism. This new country would restart the American Experiment as our original Founders had intended. This new nation had let all the western Canadian Provinces join them. Parts of states were joining together to form new states as they broke from socialist state capitols. The borders of the WSA were still in a state of flux.
While this was hard enough to wade through, the remnants of the deep states loosely attached to the CIA and NSA were doing everything in their power to take down this new government by attempted assassinations and misinformation.
John had put together a group of constitutional scholars to write the new constitution for the WSA. He had convened a constitutional convention and was preparing for a national election. John and those around him had just a few months to get all this done while trying to protect acting President John Mogen and his family as well as the constitutional scholars and delegates from the new states.
Old foes who could help their cause were trying to become friends. The power of discernment was becoming a superpower in the middle of all this. All John Mogen wanted to do was get the new country launched with an airtight constitution and people faithful to God into positions of power. This would give the new country the best chance at success. Will John achieve his vision for the WSA as he fights the old guard and tries to get all the new states on the same page? Will they follow his lead, his advice or go off into stalemate land like the old United States had gone? Will the sun dawn on a true constitutional republic or will internal and external forces destroy what he is trying to build?
Kent Thompson, a history graduate from the University of Wyoming, began his career in the oil industry after a summer job at a refinery grew into a lifelong profession. He supervised offshore platforms off Long Beach, California, and collaborated with Navy SEAL TRADET on training exercises.
Kent and his wife Susan, his high school sweetheart, live in a small mountain town in Arizona. They have three grown children and two grandsons. Kent is a lifelong student of the U.S. Constitution and the Federalist Papers.
