Dr Alexander Sutherland is a historian and writer. He is an honorary senior teaching fellow in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition at the University of Aberdeen. He has published works on Scottish witchcraft, second sight and prophecy, healthcare in the Scottish Highlands, a biography of the Scots American artist William Keith, cockfighting in Britain from antiquity to the Enlightenment, cockfighting in Britain since the Enlightenment, and is co-author of a history of the Seven Incorporated Trades of Aberdeen.
