B. Purushothama is postgraduate in textile technology, a fellow of Textile Association (India) and Institute of Engineers (India), and Certified Quality Analyst with 43 years of industrial experience in textile industry. He is also a Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and a Facilitator for Total Quality Management. He was one of the initial Quality Champions involved in implementation of JRD Quality Values and a Senior Examiner for Tata Business Excellency Module (TBEM) and was presented the title of TAI Ratna on the platinum jubilee occasion of the Textile Association (India). He was also awarded the prestigious 'Bharat Gaurav Award' and "Bharat Ratna Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Excellence Award" by India International Friendship Society in recognition of his lifetime achievements.
