Uniquely Louisiana: There are so many features that make the state of Louisiana worth celebrating! It's the mouth watering foods to eat; it's the move provoking musical sounds; it's the natural beauty of outdoors and animal life; it's the preservation of the French language, and also the plethora of cultural festivals held throughout the state.
Zerick gets an outstanding opportunity to play his accordian at the Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette, Louisiana. Zydeco is his music of choice and the people attending the event receive his performance with roaring enthusiasm. Practice makes perfect is his motto. Zerick works with Corey Ledet, he learns new moves, he learns to groove, and he even throws in French phrases he's mastered which lead to a jam session he'll never forget and his audience will crown him with a new nickname!!!
Children will find excitement in this beautifully illustrated story with interwoven creative artistic elements igniting questions, thoughts about the characters, lessons to learn, and vocabulary words to master. Also, Zerick's Zydeco Jam is a launching tool for further research.
