Dr O. P. Singh is a distinguished scientist and international consultant with over five decades of expertise in land drainage, irrigation, and the application of GIS and remote sensing. He has held prestigious leadership positions as the Principal Scientist and Head of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering at CSSRI, Karnal, and Head of the Agricultural Engineering Division at IARI, New Delhi. A globally recognized authority, Dr Singh has spearheaded major water management projects funded by the World Bank, ADB, NDB, and JICA across India and Afghanistan, with extensive consultancy services in Cambodia and Ethiopia. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from JNTU Hyderabad and M.Tech from GB Pant University Pant Nagar. Currently, he serves as a consultant for the World Bank- assisted BWSIMP project in Bihar and advises on critical flood-mitigation and groundwater recharge initiatives by DLF in the National Capital Region.
