The first part of the book presents a comprehensive review and an extensive overview of contraceptive types including oral, injectable, IUD, implant, ring, emergency, and various cervical barrier contraceptives. It also covers behavioral methods and female and male sterilization. For each contraceptive method, its clinical effectiveness, advantages, disadvantages, side effects, and mechanisms of action will be discussed at length.
As in the 4th edition, Part two of the bookaddresses specific clinical issues that healthcare providers face daily. The first chapter in Part II addresses treating healthy patients followed by those with bleeding problems, fibroids or hyperplasia, obese patients and patients with acne or hirsutism. The following chapters address other clinical issues including selecting contraceptives for women with medical problems, perimenopausal women, adolescents, and post-pregnancy patients. The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Watermark-DRM, a „soft” copy protection. This means that there are no technical restrictions to prevent illegal distribution. However, there is a personalised watermark embedded in the eBook that can be used to identify the purchaser of the eBook in the event of misuse and to provide evidence for legal purposes.
