"Seit meiner Jugend schreibe ich in schöner Unregelmäßigkeit alle möglichen Texte. Aus der Lust am Schreiben und der Passion für Rockmusik entstand mein erstes Buch Rock Weekend.
Die Erinnerungen an meine Jugend - Geschichten, Gedanken, Gefühle, Träumereien - verbinde ich mit Liedern, die mir etwas bedeuten.
Aufgewachsen bin ich in Waghäusel, unweit der alten Zuckerfabrik. Jedes Jahr im Herbst gab es dort die große Zuckerrübenkampagne. Lange Reihen Traktoren lieferten ihre Ladung in unserer Fabrik ab. Ein süßlicher, durchaus gewöhnungsbedürftiger Duft überzog unser Dorf. Ein Duft, den meine Nase niemals vergessen wird. Der Duft der Heimat. Auch jetzt, Jahrzehnte später, freue ich mich über den Anblick von Zuckerrüben. Sie erinnern mich an meine Kindheit, an meine Heimat, an Waghäusel.
Waghäusel ist einer der Hauptschauplätze in Rock Weekend."
Der Autor, geb. 1969, lebt mit seiner Frau und den beiden Kindern im Westmünsterland.
