The story is inspired by a variety of moments in life.
A Mythical Fictional Story of Crystal Powers and the Origin of Time. Lena had repeat dreams of crystal caves from the age of 5, a stern grade 6 nun at school who refused to believe Lena could write a detailed story of a crystal clock that stopped time. After finishing a university degree, Lena set out on a quest to search for a meaning to her dreams, meeting those who would help and those that would try to exploit her for the powers she was given in the crystal caves.
The dreams were recurring dreams of a crystal clock that could stop time. Lena was seemingly always late in getting assignments in for school. In Grade 6, my Social Studies Teacher gave an assignment to the class to write a short story on anything. Lena did not complete mine on time and when Lena was asked to read mine in front of the class, she had to admit it wasn't complete. Her mother was notified and that evening she sat with my mother and wrote out a story from my dreams about a crystal clock that stopped time. It wasn't a traditional clock. It was a giant crystal in the center of a crystal cave. In her dreams, sometimes she would touch the surface of the crystal and time would stop. It allowed her to go anywhere and only she was moving.
