VLSI is a well-established field of research that ignited the modern computing revolution. As the computing era transitions from conventional to cognitive computing, data and image processing is becoming a part of almost every real-world problem faced by researchers today.
Serving as a guide to future developments, this book provides a framework for the design, modeling concepts, and application of image processing based systems using VLSI design techniques. It provides information on basic and advanced image and video processing techniques and the central role played by these applications in revolutionizing the modern world via task automation, and explains why dedicated hardware is the best way to implement such applications, emphasising the real challenges in this field due to the complex and non-stationary nature of signals for a variety of applications in analysis, classification, and identification.
This volume focuses on a range of topics including object detection, recognition, smart traffic management, surveillance systems, face detection, gesture-based automated systems, and smart cities based on automated cameras.
With chapters on recent system implementations, reviews, and bibliometric analysis, the book will help the research community to get in-depth knowledge of various systems that can be designed with image processing techniques using hardware.

System requirements
File format: ePUB
Copy protection: without DRM (Digital Rights Management)
System requirements:
- Computer (Windows; MacOS X; Linux): Use a reader that can handle the file format ePUB, such as Adobe Digital Editions or FBReader – both free (see eBook Help).
- Tablet/Smartphone (Android; iOS): Install the free app Adobe Digital Editions or the app PocketBook (see eBook Help).
- E-reader: Bookeen, Kobo, Pocketbook, Sony, Tolino and many more (not Kindle).
The file format ePUB works well for novels and non-fiction books – i.e., 'flowing' text without complex layout. On an e-reader or smartphone, line and page breaks automatically adjust to fit the small displays.
