A safe space for helping professionals to work through compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
Research has shown that psychotherapists and other helping professionals, particularly those who assist people who have suffered traumatic incidents, face risks to their own mental and physical health. These risks include unmanageable countertransference, compassion fatigue, vicarious traumatization, and burnout.
The Help for the Helper Workbook is a companion to Babette Rothschild's Help for The Helper, Updated and Expanded (2022). It includes practical tasks and exercises that complement the original volume to enhance and strengthen the ability of helping professionals to better care for their own psychological health while assisting highly stressed and traumatized clients. Whether used on its own or in combination with the original volume, this workbook provides helpers with a safe space to prioritize their well-being.

File format: ePUB
Copy protection: Watermark-DRM (Digital Rights Management)
System requirements:
- Computer (Windows; MacOS X; Linux): Use a reading software that can process the file format ePUB: e.g., Adobe Digital Editions or FBReader – both free (see eBook Help).
- Tablet/Smartphone (Android; iOS): Before downloading, install the free app Adobe Digital Editions (see eBook Help).
- E-reader: Bookeen, Kobo, Pocketbook, Sony, Tolino and many more (not Kindle).
