Description
We are out of sync with the universe because we experience our lives through a veil of duality, wrongly discriminating between subject and object, mind and body, observer and observed. Zen training is designed to break through to non-Duality. Zen functions in non-Duality. The process of thought takes place in the filed of duality. Therefore, it follows that no thinking will lead to Zen. A baby is part of one big thing, the "Oneness with the Universe" that is the fundamental quality of everything. By the time we are 4 or 5, we lose this Oneness. Regaining that Oneness is extraordinarily difficult as all of our experiences since childhood have been imprinted in our brains in a dualistic format.
