The nightmare ended. The family began. But vengeance never sleeps.
After Annee Porter and Mike Farelli risked everything to save eight-year-old Lexi from a trafficking ring, life on Willow Lane has finally found its rhythm. Lexi is thriving as their adopted daughter, Mike is a retired detective working as a private investigator, and Annee has scaled back her accounting work to focus on being a wife and mother. The past, it seems, has been buried.
Then Duncan Mathis moves in across the street with his wife, Sarah, and teenage son, Logan. Charming, successful, and eager to befriend the neighborhood, Duncan seems like the perfect neighbor. When Logan and Lexi form an instant connection, both families welcome the friendship that quickly blossoms into young love.
But Mike's detective instincts whisper warnings he can't ignore. Small inconsistencies. Calculated coincidences. The feeling of being watched. As he digs deeper into Duncan's past, he uncovers a terrifying truth: their new neighbor is not who he claims to be, and his presence on Willow Lane is no accident.
Duncan Mathis is really Duncan Holloway-the missing son of the man who orchestrated Lexi's kidnapping years ago. And he's been planning his revenge for nearly a decade.
When the sins of the fathers threaten the children, two families must decide: Can love break the cycle of vengeance, or will the past destroy them all?

Person
Antoinette Robles is an emerging voice in contemporary fiction and self-help literature. Born and raised in Queens, New York, she grew up exploring poetry, art, music, and creative writing while devouring novels by V.C. Andrews and Dean Koontz. As an adult, she discovered a deep appreciation for Nicholas Sparks, whose emotionally resonant storytelling continues to influence her work.
Drawing from both diverse literary influences and lived experience, Antoinette writes psychological and domestic fiction that explores survival, identity, and the complexities of human relationships. After retiring from the medical field, where she served as an essential worker, she now focuses on personal growth, continuing her education, and reconnecting with her lifelong passions for painting and writing. She lives in rural Pennsylvania with her young son, dogs, and a cat.
