In "Voices of American History," acclaimed author Barry Robbins brings history vividly to life through meticulously crafted first-person narratives that transport you directly to the front lines, the strategic councils, and the intimate struggles of everyday Americans.
Witness the birth of a nation through the eyes of a young patriot at the Boston Tea Party, and stand beside George Washington as he makes his desperate gamble crossing the Delaware. Feel the wrenching agony of command as Abraham Lincoln grapples with the impossible choices of the Civil War, while soldiers at Gettysburg confront the brutal reality of combat. In Vietnam, experience the passionate convictions of protesters, patriots, and presidents, and the harrowing jungle warfare endured by soldiers on both sides.
More than just tales of battles and politics, these powerful narratives plunge you into the human drama, the clashing ideals, and the staggering sacrifices that forged modern America. Prepare to see these pivotal chapters of history as you've never experienced them before?through the poignant, personal voices of those who lived them.
