This book guides engineering students and industry practitioners through simulation-based analog circuit design, from fundamental op-amp and diode applications to multi-transistor-multi-stage amplifier circuits. A basic design, that integrates simulations, may start with manual calculations that utilize simplified formulas and assumed parameters. It is followed by a simulation that allows the designer to contrast the approximations with an exact solution. It then ends with circuit tweaking and precise parameter tuning. Wilfredo Rivas-Torres holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton Florida in 2013. He has been with Agilent and now Keysight Technologies for over 20 years. Presently he is a Sr. R&D Solution Architect & Development Scientist in the Design Engineering Software (DES) division at Keysight Technologies, Inc. His research interests are advance behavioral modeling of circuits, Phased Array Systems modeling and design. Dr. Rivas-Torres research interests also include scenario modeling of Aerospace Defense and Communication Systems with an emphasis on design exploration and optimization.
Zvi S Roth received his BSc and MSc in Electrical Engineering from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology in 1975 and 1979, and his PhD in Systems Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (1983). He is presently a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton Florida. His teaching and research interests are in Control Systems, Robotics and Automation, Electronic Circuit Design and Bioengineering. He co-authored two books in Robotics (1991 and 1996) and one in Control Systems (2019), and over 70 refereed publications. He served as Director of the FAU Robotics Center (1985-1994), Chair of the FAU EE Department (1993-1997) and Director of the Florida-Israel Institute (2005-2008). Dr. Roth was the winner of multiple FAU teaching awards.
