When Brenda Berkman was a girl, she loved sports and playing outside--but the coach wouldn't let her play on the baseball team. "Don't send a girl to play a boy's game!" he said. So Brenda and her friends started their own games.
When Brenda grew up, she wanted a job that was active and challenging. So after the New York City Fire Department announced that women could take the exam to become firefighters, she knew it was the perfect fit. But the test was so biased that not a single woman could pass it, making the message clear: don't send a girl to fight fires.
Brenda was strong and fast and smart, and she knew plenty of other women were, too. So she took the FDNY to court. And she won! But that was just the first battle. How would the other firefights--and New York City residents--respond?
Send a Girl! is the inspiring story of the trailblazing woman who became New York City's first professional female firefighter.

The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Adobe-DRM, a „hard” copy protection. If the necessary requirements are not met, unfortunately you will not be able to open the eBook. You will therefore need to prepare your reading hardware before downloading.
Please note: We strongly recommend that you authorise using your personal Adobe ID after installation of any reading software.
