Warrior-in-training Hyw can transform into any bird or animal.
His sister Catrin can see the future in a drop of water.
When the last true Prince of Wales is murdered, Hyw's gift allows him to meld with the prince's spirit. On the run with the dwindling Welsh army, betrayal dogs their heels. Hyw and Catrin must unite their abilities to protect their people?and each other?from Longshanks' ruthless army.
But as Hyw becomes trapped in his magic and her betrothed is thrown in an English jail, Catrin faces an impossible choice: save her brother, or save the man she loves.
Magic, mythology, and forgotten legends unfold in 13th Century Wales.
