WHAT HAPPENS WHEN a present-day lady lawyer wakes up in an 1890s mountain cabin with a grizzly-faced recluse, then learns she is there to defend him against a murder charge?
Entertainment lawyer KATHERINE MARSHALL views the whole idea of time-travel as pure Hollywood escapism, but she figures the only solution to her bizarre predicament is to right a century-old mistake: the hanging of an innocent man.
FLYNT AVERY, a student of ancient Indian mysticism, finds himself believing in the claims of this fascinating woman he calls Kate?that she has somehow come from another time. But when he learns that his acquittal means she will return to her life in 1992, Flynt would rather lose his life to a hangman's noose than lose the woman he loves.
Re-issue. Previously published by Jove.

Person
Sue Phillips is a storyteller drawn to the hidden and the haunted?her wide-ranging body of work spans paranormal historical romance, time-travel romantic suspense, contemporary romance, narrative nonfiction, true crime, and women's fiction.
Born in San Diego, Sue spent much of her childhood in Dunsmuir, California, in the shadow of the mystical Mt. Shasta in the Southern Cascade Mountains?the setting for her time-travel novel This Time Together. Moving to Los Angeles, she majored in Journalism and enjoyed a stint as a DJ at her college radio station. She became a motivational therapist and exercise instructor for the Richard Simmons' Anatomy Asylum before returning to college to pursue her dream of becoming a writer.
Her latest novel, You Oughta Know, was inspired by her years as a Scout leader taking troops to weekend camps in the Santa Monica Mountains. The story explores the secrets and betrayals that bind a family together when a young boy's silence threatens to destroy everything.
A student of metaphysics and parapsychology for over thirty years, Sue explores both the supernatural and the unseen truths that shape human relationships. Whether writing time-travel romance set near mystical Mt. Shasta or contemporary fiction about the secrets families keep, she is drawn to stories about what lies beneath the surface. That same fascination led her to collaborate with private investigator Deanne Acuna on two books documenting Acuna's extraordinary cases?investigations that wove sharp detective instincts with genuine psychic abilities. When Acuna passed away before their planned five-book series could be completed, it left behind two volumes Sue is honored to have helped bring to life. She maintains a growing collection of tarot cards and now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A former board member of Novelists, Inc., Sue is also the publisher of Sweetbriar Creek Books, where she is reissuing the backlist of the late bestselling romance author Barbara McCauley (Barbara Joel)?thirty books previously published by Harlequin.
