Maria Richardson is trying to lay low after being dragged through headlines and sold out by those closest to her. Her plan is to return to the last place she felt happy, a small Californian coastal town. When one reckless decision puts her face-to-face with a childhood friend, hiding might not be an option anymore.

Local lifeguard Trayden Brief doesn't just see through the walls she has built; he wants to find a way around them. While everyone else sees what Maria wants them to see, he refuses to believe the girl he remembers is gone.
