Rich's goal upon entering Moody's MABS program was then, as it is now, to know God better, and to love Him more. Before completing the program, he began praying to know what God had in mind for him next. While praying he realized that some, if not much of the biblical "knowledge" which he had recently gained, would likely slip from his mind if he did not take steps to prevent that. He was then led to compile his written assignments into a well-organized anthology. As he prayerfully worked on that project, he realized that the finished product could well serve as a Christian discipleship or small group study. That led him to prayerfully consider making the project available to everyone. After his legal career ended, Rich O'Brien enrolled in Moody Theological Seminary's Master of Arts in Biblical Studies Program. He spent hours each day praying, reading, researching, and writing about God and His word. It was a time that greatly accelerated his spiritual growth. He was both blessed and humbled when at Moody's Michigan graduation ceremony he received the Faculty Award-Biblical Studies as "the graduating student who has done the most outstanding work in English Bible interpretation during his or her studies at Moody Theological Seminary-Michigan." He went on to publish "At-Home Seminary for Today's Disciples of Christ." Now he is pleased to present this Study Guide to complement the book!
