Darwin, Summer, 1963.
The humidity sat heavy and thick over the town as Senior Constable Ned Potter looked down at a body that had been dragged from the shallow marshland. Matt Nable is an Australian actor, writer, director and novelist, with a career spanning film, television and literature. He first gained attention in 2007 when he wrote and starred in The Final Winter, which became Paramount Pictures' first Australian acquisition. This success led to international opportunities, with Matt taking roles in films like The Killer Elite alongside Jason Statham, Clive Owen and Robert De Niro, Riddick with Vin Diesel, and Son of a Gun with Ewan McGregor. Matt Nable also starred in 1%, which he wrote, and the film premiered at TIFF before being acquired by A24, earning him an AACTA nomination for Best Original Screenplay. He played a leading role in the film adaptation of Jane Harper's The Dry.
Matt Nable's directorial debut came in 2021 with Transfusion, a crime thriller starring Sam Worthington. Matt's television career includes standout roles in East West 101, Underbelly: Badness, Arrow, Mr Inbetween, Last King of the Cross and Apple Cider Vinegar to name a few. His performances across both film and TV have earned him four AACTA nominations. With over two decades of experience in the industry, Matt Nable continues to be a highly respected and versatile figure in Australian and international entertainment.
