With more than 630 species including a number of endemic races and species, the southeast Asian island of Borneo holds one of the world's most diverse avifaunas. This book is the perfect guide to help you identify them.
Covering Brunei, the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak and the Indonesian state of Kalimantan, Birds of Borneo features an extensive introduction providing information on geography, climate and habitat. The concise species text covers the identification, voice and status of every species that breeds or visits the island, accompanied by detailed distribution maps. Opposite the text are 144 colour plates, covering all major plumage variations of age, subspecies and sex.
The product of a lifetime of exploration and study, Susan Myers's Birds of Borneo is indispensable for birders and naturalists visiting or living on this extraordinary island.

Person
Susan grew up in Australia and has been travelling and birding in Asia for more than 30 years. A particular fascination with the tropical forests of the Sundaic Region led to her writing the Field Guide to the Birds of Borneo, followed by a photographic guide to the region (both published by Helm).
Many years of exploration dealing with heat, humidity and biting invertebrates have not dimmed her enthusiasm for the amazing biodiversity and wonderful birds of this special region.
