This book presents the proceedings of the International Conference on Technology Advances for Green Solutions and Sustainable Development (ICT4GS-2024) held from August 9-10, 2024, and organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIST University, Berhampur - 761008, Odisha, India. The event provided a platform for researchers, professionals, and policymakers to exchange ideas and discuss recent innovations in green technologies and sustainable practices. The conference featured keynote speeches, paper presentations, and thematic discussions on topics such as renewable energy, IoT for environmental monitoring, and sustainable agriculture. Dr. Brojo Kishore Mishra is a Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NIST University. He has published over 50 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals, more than 40 conference papers, over 50 book chapters, edited 25+ books, and authored two books. His research interests include data mining, machine learning, soft computing, and cybersecurity. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Berhampur University in 2012. Dr. Mishra has served in various roles such as keynote speaker, program chair, proceedings chair, and advisory board member for numerous international conferences. He is a Life Member of ISTE, CSI, and a Senior Member of IEEE.
Prof. Álvaro Rocha holds a D.Sc. in Information Science and a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Technologies. He is a Professor at the University of Coimbra and serves as President of the Iberian Association for Information Systems and Technologies (AISTI), and Chair of the IEEE SMC Portugal Section Society Chapter. He has served as Vice-Chair of Experts for Horizon 2020 of the European Commission and as an expert for government ministries in Italy and Latvia. His research interests span information systems management, maturity models, IS quality, intelligent systems, software engineering, e-government, e-health, and ICT in education.
Dr. Sandipan Mallik received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, in 2014 and currently serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIST University. With over 10 years of teaching and 16 years of research experience, his areas of expertise include thin film deposition technology, MOS device physics, proteotronics, photovoltaics, IoT sensors, biomedical device development, and virtual instrumentation. He has authored more than 100 research publications and holds six Indian patents. Dr. Mallik is also actively involved in funded projects and startup initiatives.
