The old blokes are at it again. They're trying to fool tourists into believing the Tasmanian Tiger isn't extinct after all.
Which is just as well... because Windy Mountain's new museum manager is going to need all the help he can get.
This hulking Irishman arrives by taxi late at night ? and gets a taste of what's to come when the town's scrawny old cab driver takes a swing at him. Mistaken identity. Old fears. One very large problem.
Because Windy Mountain remembers a man his size. A man called Moose.
The former mayor is disgusted by what's going on at the Tasmanian Tiger Museum. He owns the only legal dog in town and follows it everywhere with a pooper-scooper, so the whole business strikes him as deeply suspicious.
Can you blame the two meddling octogenarians, Wish-Wash and Oodles, though?
In their rheumy eyes, the odds are stacked against the new bloke. So they step in to help.
Which means breaking a ridiculous law... and telling a lie that's about to get out of hand.
Then comes a midnight visitor.
Billy Gumboots is back in town for a reunion ? the infamous 1994 football team ? and he's not the only piece of the past making a quiet return.
Because the man Windy Mountain remembers is coming back too. Moose.
And this time, he may not be the villain they recall.
As for the new manager... he's not quite the man he claims to be.
"Great characters. Great fun. Hilarious blend of characters and lies."
This is the first book in a funny mystery-comedy series set on the island of Tasmania at the bottom of Australia. Quirky characters abound, and they're going to get deeper, dafter and far more unpredictable as the series unfolds.
The whimsical adventures continue with Blokes on a Plane, Whitey and the Six Dwarfs, Blokes in Donegal, Blokes in the House, Who Knew Tasmanian Tigers Eat Apples?, Who Knew Tiger Sharks Also Eat Apples?, The Life and Deaths of Billy Gumboots, and Blokes Send in the Clones. One more book is on the drawing board in this 10-book series.
So go on ? start at the beginning. Every tall tale needs its first lie.
