The main objective of the Workshop was to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences and reinforce scientific contacts in the large multidisciplinary area of the control of nonlinear and hybrid systems.

Françoise Lamnabhi-Lagarrigue is "Directeur deRecherche" at the the French National Centre of Scientific Research(CNRS) at Laboratoire de Signaux et Systemes, Supelec, since 1993.She obtained her Docteur d'état ès Sciences Physiquesfrom Université Paris Sud in 1985. She is presently ManagingEditor of International Journal of Control, Director of the MarieCurie Control Training Site (CTS), Scientific Manager of theHYCON NoE (Hybrid Control: Taming Heterogeneity and Complexity ofNetworked Embedded Systems). She was elected member for the years2003-2005 of the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control SystemsSociety. Her main research interests lie in the fields of nonlinearand hybrid systems including system analysis and control design.She is author and co-author of more than hundred scientificpublications which include one book, 60 journal papers and chaptersof book, a Special issue of the International Journal on Control,the co-edition of 10 books, about 70 published conference papers.
Antonio Loria is currently "Chargé de Recherche", atthe the French National Centre of Scientific Research (CNRS) atLaboratoire de Signaux et Systemes, Supelec. He got his PhD degreefrom the University of Technology of Compiègne in 1996. He is(co)author of more than a hundred scientific publications including4 books. His research interests are modelling and control ofphysical systems, stability analysis of nonlinear time-varying andhybrid systems. He is associate editor of Automatica and Systemsand Control Letters.
Elena Panteley is currently "Chargée de Recherche",at the the French National Centre of Scientific Research (CNRS) atLaboratoire de Signaux et Systemes, Supelec since 2004. She got herPhD degree from St. Petersbourg State University (mathematics) in1997. She is (co)author of more than seventy scientificpublications including 2 books. Her research interests includecontrol design and analysis for nonlinear, time-varying andswitched dynamical systems, adaptive nonlinear control andsynchronisation of nonlinear systems.
Salah Laghrouche got an electrical engineering degree atthe University of Algiers in 2000. He received a scholarship toundertake research in the area of nonlinear control at EcoleCentrale Nantes in France. He obtained his PhD diploma in 2004 andthen moved to the Laboratoire des Signaux et Systemes, CNRS,Supelec to work as a Research fellow. In 2006, he was appointed toa lectureship in Control Engineering at Université deTechnologie de Belfort-Montbéliard. His research interests arehigher order sliding mode control, power systems and automotivecontrol.
