The Matchmaker

Tima was forced to flee the palace when a tyrant attacked her kingdom on the day she would be crowned queen. Living in seclusion with an old friend, she wonders if she will ever see her people again. Must she live in hiding forever? Just when her life can't get any lower, a furry companion shows up, consoling her and banishing her loneliness.

Her life takes another drastic turn when her crown is won back for her. Thrust upon the throne, with a kingdom to rebuild, Tima rises up to the pressure. However, when her advisors insist that she marry, frustration becomes her new companion. Why does she need a husband? How can she get out of this? Finding a slight loophole, she insists that she will only marry a man her dog approves of.

Which works for a while. Until it doesn't.

It doesn't help her 'forever single' dreams when the man her dog grows close to is a gentle, quiet man she would like to know better as well. A man who might make an excellent husband, but maybe not a great king...
