Description
This book discusses all the main types of packaging based on paperand paperboard. It considers the raw materials and manufacture ofpaper and paperboard, and the basic properties and features onwhich packaging made from these materials depends for itsappearance and performance. The manufacture of twelve types ofpaper- and paperboard-based packaging is described, together withtheir end-use applications and the packaging machinery involved.The importance of pack design is stressed, and how these materialsoffer packaging designers opportunities for imaginative andinnovative design solutions. Environmental and waste managementissues are addressed in a separate chapter.
