From the very beginning nothing has been guaranteed about democracy in America. Every generation has had to defend it, protect it, preserve it, choose it for that's what democracy is. It is a choice, a decision of the people by the people and for the people.
I remain very optimistic about the American future. We need to be looking to the future, not fixated on the past.
The foundation of our nation is becoming rotten. God commands you to choose for rulers who will ride in the fear of God. The precaution of a republican government depends on the faithful discharge of this duty.
