Description

This 40-page SAT® math booklet provides detailed explanations of the math skills tested on the exam. Broken into 15 chapters, it presents the topics clearly and gives example problems with answer explanations, based on my experience taking more than two dozen College Board SAT® exams. Strong math students who already understand basic algebra and geometry and who are motivated and self-directed can use this booklet to prepare independently for the exam. This booklet could also serve as a guide for math teachers and tutors who are good at math but who need to use approaches that are very specific to the SAT. This booklet is fairly dense with information and examples but does not give complete or lengthy homework assignments, so the teacher or tutor would still need to assign supplementary practice problems. Depending on the skill level of the students, each chapter could take an hour or a couple of weeks. After mastering the material in this booklet, students will be ready to do real College Board practice tests and then to go score well on the actual exam!
