Prakash Raut has an M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Zoology with various degrees in education such as D.H.Ed., B.Ed., M.Ed., and D.E.M. He is an Ex-Professor and Head of Department of Environmental Science, Former I/C Dean of Interdisciplinary Studies, Former I/C Head of Department of Geography and Zoology at Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Presently, he is the Chief Executive Officer of Shivaji University Research and Development Foundation, a Section 8 Company of Shivaji University. He has received many other educational degrees and has 39 years of teaching experience. He specializes in Environmental Toxicology, Ecology, and Biodiversity. He has 97 research publications to his credit, published in National and International Journals of repute on Invertebrate Endocrinology, Toxicology, and Ecology. Under his guidance, 17 students have completed Ph.D., 6 students M.Phil., and 22 students completed their M.Tech. degree. He has attended 86 National and International Conferences, Seminars, and Workshops in India and abroad to present papers and deliver lectures. He has received many honors such as the Gold Medal and FAEB Fellowship of Academy of Environmental Biology, Lucknow. He was honored by Shivaji University with the "University Best Teachers Award" in 2017. He was also felicitated with the "Vasundhara Gourav Award 2018" by Kirloskar Vasundhara Festival. He is working and has worked on various bodies, committees, and establishments such as Senate, Management Committee, BOS, BOE, Co-ordinator, Chief Rector, etc. He is a member of various National and International Organizations like BNHS, IBCN, WWF, and various other research societies. He has completed research projects of MoEFCC, DAE-BRNS, BARC, and UGC with funding of around 2.22 Cr with themes on GIS study of Wildlife Sanctuary, Flora and Fauna, Demography, and Geo-medical study of ground water.
Sukanta Mondal is currently working as Principal Scientist in the Physiology Division at ICAR-National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore, India. His major research interests involve the impact of stress on maternal recognition of pregnancy, cloning, characterization and expression of genes regulating early embryonic loss, and molecular characterization and expression of hormone receptors. He is a noted environmental biologist who has deciphered the molecular basis of climate change impact on maternal recognition of pregnancy and embryo survival in sheep. He has published over 200 research publications in various National/International journals and presented more than 30 papers at various National/International Conferences. His pioneering and path-breaking contribution in hormone receptor as well as sheep and buffalo genomics has been recognized nationally, and he has received several prestigious awards like the Prof. G. P. Talwar Midcareer Scientist award (2014), Rashtriya Gaurav award (2014), Prof. G. K. Pal award (2013), Fellow of Indian Chemical Society (2013), Fellow of Society for Applied Biotechnology (2012), Fellow of Indian Association of BioMedical Scientists (2010), Dr. K. Anji Reddy award (2011), Prof. P. B. Sen Memorial Oration award (2008), Biotechnology Overseas Associateship award (Long term, 2007-08), and ISSRF Young Scientist Award (2006). He has been bestowed with several fellowships including National Scholarship (Govt. of India), S J Jindal Trust fellowship, Junior Research Fellowship (NDRI), Senior Research Fellowship (IVRI), and CRBR Postdoctoral fellowship (Canada). He was serving as Joint Secretary of the National Environmental Science Academy, Executive member of the Physiological Society of India, and Editorial board member of the Indian Association for Animal Production. He was Associate Editor of journals including the American Journal of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Asian Journal of Biotechnology, Asian Journal of Cell Biology, Current Research in Poultry Science, and Biotechnology.
