Leslie thought she was running from these two words, "Pizza Face," but couldn't ever quite shake them off. The words were spoken to her and about her, defining her-and she felt those words to her core. Her rare skin disease gave her spots that covered her entire body. When those words were spoken to her, she could have curled up in a ball and gave up, but actually the opposite became true.

Negative words and bullying were behind her driving force her entire life. She always found a way to get up, dust herself off, push past, and get through each and every challenge that faced her, including being the first to the checkered flag as a lady racing a car on a dirt track.
