Description
Alles über E-Books | Antworten auf Fragen rund um E-Books, Kopierschutz und Dateiformate finden Sie in unserem Info- & Hilfebereich.
With a unique approach, the author stresses the need to diagnose not only the correct difficulty but the degree of learning difficulty for a lasting resolution, as well as tackling common behavioural problems such as attention needing and task avoidance.
Chapters are split into three specific areas, SLD, PMLD and ASD/SLD, covering:
the 'Magnificent Seven' fundamental principles of challenging behaviour
strategies for correct identification of the main area of learning difficulty
improving teaching methods and strategies to resolve challenging behaviour, including handy hints and tips when things don't go to plan
extensive use of real case studies to illustrate strategies for resolution
guidance on writing your own Behaviour Support Plan.
This is a practical and authoritative guide to dealing with the myriad of challenging behaviours that constantly puzzle practitioners. It is an essential read for all professionals, parents and carers working with children, young people and adults with SLD, SLD/ASD and PMLD.
Reviews / Votes
I feel disposed towards a second edition of Turning the tables on Challenging Behaviour. The issues interrogated in the book remain of considerable importance within educational settings and their communities. There are only a few substantive sources for practitioners to draw upon in the field of SLD/PMLD and ASD. So I do feel that, with the suggested additions/amendments, the book should be given further opportunities to cement its position within a modest range of dedicated literature.
Philip Garner, Professor of Education, The University of Northampton, School of Education
A very practical and helpful book. Very readable, succinct and easy to understand. The author writes in a way that engages readers well and clearly draws on his own practical experience.
I found it a useful book to direct new people for an inspiring read. Some of the material can be used for school-based training, especially the material on learners with PMLD and ASD/SLD

The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Adobe-DRM, a „hard” copy protection. If the necessary requirements are not met, unfortunately you will not be able to open the eBook. You will therefore need to prepare your reading hardware before downloading.
