Prof. Z. Huda earned PhD in Materials Technology/Metallurgy from Brunel University, London, UK in 1991. He is also a postgraduate in Manufacturing Engineering. He obtained B. Eng. in Metallurgical Engineering from University of Karachi, Pakistan in 1976. He is the author/co-author/editor of 125+ publications; which include 5 books and 34 peer-reviewed international SCOPUS-indexed journal articles (26 ISI-indexed papers) in the fields of materials/ manufacturing/mechanical engineering published by reputed publishers from USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Switzerland, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, South Korea, and Singapore. He has been cited around 600 times in www.scholar.google.com . His author h-index is 12 (i10-index: 15). He, as PI, has attracted eight (8) research grants, which amount to a total worth of USD 0.14 Million. Prof Huda is the recipient of UK-Singapore Partners in Science Collaboration Award for research collaboration with British universities; which was awarded to him by the British High Commission, Singapore (2006). He is also the recipient of a shield awarded by the Minister of Defense Production of Pakistan for presenting a paper about tank gun barrel during an international conference (1994).
Prof Huda has successfully completed 20+ industrial consultancy/R&D projects in the areas of failure analysis and manufacturing in Malaysia and Pakistan. He is the developer of Toyota Corolla cars' axle-hub's heat-treatment manufacturing process first ever implemented in Pakistan (through Indus Motor Company/ Transmission Engineering Industries Ltd, Karachi) during 1997. Besides industrial consultancy, Dr. Huda has worked as C. Plant Manager, Development Engineer, Metallurgist, and Gr. Engineer (Metallurgy) in various manufacturing companies, including Pakistan Steel Mills Ltd. Prof Z. Huda has delivered Guest Lectures/Presentations in the areas of materials and manufacturing in the UK, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Malaysia. Prof Z. Huda holds Memberships of prestigious professional societies, including: (a) Pakistan Engineering Council, (b) Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), London, UK, and (c) Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM), Canada. He has supervised/co-supervised to completion a number of PhD and Master research theses. His biography has been published in Marque's WHO's WHO IN THE WORLD, 2008-2016. He is a member of the International Biographic Centre (IBC), UK's TOP 100 ENGINEERS -2015.
