After leaving the city for a quieter life in the town of Sunridge, population 5,428, Rory Finch is regretting his life choices. While his partner Gabe gets more and more distant, Rory feels it all slipping away from him: time, happiness, and his career. After another argument, Rory drives away, unsure of his destination. An empty gas tank leads him to the only thing still open in town, a bar. There, he meets the beautiful, young Danny Weber.
Danny has lived in Sunridge his entire life. He's pleasant, relaxed, and completely fine with just being friends if that's what Rory wants.
However, as their friendship grows, so too do Rory's feelings for Danny. Although Rory continues to tell himself that they are only friends, he's more than aware of the looming decision he's going to have to make: commit himself to rekindling his relationship with Gabe, or throw it all away and start over.
