James Ryder just learned that his girlfriend, Chelsea, has turned into a vampire, and now she's out for blood-his. Thought missing, she returns home claiming she has amnesia. Being dead shouldn't interfere with her social life, so she heads back to school. Now James's only hope to stay human is to hook up with Rina Cargiale, the new girl, who's also a two-hundred-year-old vampire.

James dumps Chelsea when she's down, and his reputation takes a hit. But he would rather be a living bad boy than a dead good guy.
