Dr. Umar Zakir Abdul Hamid has 10+ years' knowledge in Control System Theory (Aircraft, Automotive and Robotics) and 6+ years' involvement in ADAS and Autonomous Vehicle. He has taken extensive part in a lot of projects for Driverless Technology (Road Vehicle, Indoor Robots and Autonomous Surface Vessel). His major concentration is in the 'Guidance, Navigation and Control', where earlier he did his PhD (collaboration with PROTON carmaker and Smart Mobility Research Center, Tokyo) in the 'Autonomous Vehicle Collision Avoidance' topics with the focus on Motion and Path Planning, and Control Strategies. Umar Zakir is a prolific researcher where he has published more than 15 scientific papers as the Lead Author. He is also an active reviewer and editor for several prestigious journals and conferences in the mentioned fields. He was a principal member of the pioneering team of Autonomous Vehicle (AV) in Malaysia, where he helped to build one of Southeast Asia's earliest AV Prototype while working with Moovita Pte Ltd (Singapore). He is now leading a team of 12 engineers in the production-scale autonomous vehicle planning and control systems algorithm development for Sensible 4 Oy (Finland), focusing on the automated driving use-case in the urban environment and all-weather scenario. Umar Zakir is an active member of several Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Task Force, focusing on the active-safety for autonomous vehicle topics. He is also one of the recipients for the Finnish Engineering Award 2020 for his contributions to the development of all-weather autonomous driving solution with Sensible 4.
Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman received his Ph.D. in computer science from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, Canada, in 2011. He is a full professor and a research center director at Near East University, Nicosia, Cyprus. Prof. Al-Turjman is a leading authority in the areas of smart/intelligent, wireless, and mobile networks' architectures, protocols, deployments, and performance evaluation. His publication history spans over 250 publications in journals, conferences, patents, books, and book chapters, in addition to numerous keynotes and plenary talks at flagship venues. He has authored and edited more than 25 books about cognition, security, and wireless sensor networks' deployments in smart environments, published by Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, and Springer. He has received several recognitions and best papers' awards at top international conferences. He also received the prestigious Best Research Paper Award from Elsevier Computer Communications Journal for the period 2015-2018, in addition to the Top Researcher Award for 2018 at Antalya Bilim University, Turkey. Prof. Al-Turjman has led a number of international symposia and workshops in flagship communication society conferences. Currently, he serves as an associate editor and the lead guest/associate editor for several well reputed journals, including the IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (IF 23.9) and the Elsevier Sustainable Cities and Society (IF 5.7).

System requirements
File format: PDF
Copy protection: Watermark-DRM (Digital Rights Management)
System requirements:
- Computer (Windows; MacOS X; Linux): Use the free software Adobe Reader, Adobe Digital Editions, or any other PDF viewer of your choice (see eBook Help).
- Tablet/Smartphone (Android; iOS): Install the free app Adobe Digital Editions or another reading app for eBooks, e.g., PocketBook (see eBook Help).
- E-reader: Bookeen, Kobo, Pocketbook, Sony, Tolino and many more (only limited: Kindle).
The file format PDF always displays a book page identically on any hardware. This makes PDF suitable for complex layouts such as those used in textbooks and reference books (images, tables, columns, footnotes). Unfortunately, on the small screens of e-readers or smartphones, PDFs are rather annoying, requiring too much scrolling.
This eBook uses Watermark-DRM, a „soft” copy protection. This means that there are no technical restrictions to prevent illegal distribution. However, there is a personalised watermark embedded in the eBook that can be used to identify the purchaser of the eBook in the event of misuse and to provide evidence for legal purposes.
