The Wayward Spider: Full Description
All Spider wants is to seek his fortune as a thief. Is that too much to ask?
Apparently so. When a routine break-in goes spectacularly wrong, Spider finds himself tethered to a powerful magic-user with sporadic control over his spells?and even less of a grip on how to function in society.
From that disastrous first job, the stakes only get higher. Each misadventure drags Spider further from his goals, but he's about to learn that in a world governed by higher powers, you don't always get what you want?but you might just get exactly what you need.
Werewolves, cults, ghosts, and gods?this quest has it all. Join a moody thief, a caster of chaos magic, and a hulking behemoth as circumstances throw them from one disaster to the next. And just why is that ancient cult chasing them?
Written by award-winning Canadian author and Writers of the Future winner John T. Haas, The Wayward Spideris book two of the Impossible Quests series. Known for sharp wit and classic fantasy adventure, Haas explores the lighter side of the unknown in this hilariously subversive journey where no disaster is off-limits.
This revised second edition marks the debut of the series under the Black Lantern Press imprint.

Person
John T. Haas, a Canadian author from Montreal, spent twelve great years in Calgary before settling in Ottawa, though he still longs for those Rocky Mountains. Writing is his lifelong passion, but he started pursuing publishing seriously after his sons were born. Since then, he's had over thirty short stories published and authored eight novels and three anthologies. His humorous fantasy trilogy starts with "The Reluctant Barbarian." After winning the Writer's of the Future contest in 2019 with his novella "The Damned Voyage," he launched a prequel Lovecraftian trilogy with "Cults of Death and Madness," published by Wordfire Press. He also has a standalone horror novel, "Stay Out." John aims to be a full-time writer, dreaming of fame and fortune, but taking it step by step. He lives with his supportive family, who inspire and motivate him to keep writing.
