When a man is shot and killed at the Track And Trail Lodge, and the man doing the shooting is a gun salesman, something must be done. The multi-billionaire owner of the gun manufacturing corporation can ill-afford to have one of his guns get a tarnished reputation.
The dead body is stripped of anything which could possibly assist in identifying him. It is then loaded on a plane, flown into the wilds of Canada, and dumped from the air.
Deputy sheriff Mack Thomas, along with the Claybonre County Sheriff's Department, becomes involved in the search for the missing man. He was a former deputy of the sheriff's department.
While the search for the missing man goes on, an attempt is made on the life of one of the Thomas family. That sends Mack, and his wife, deputy sheriff Lisa Thomas, on the trail of the attempted murderer. A trail that leads them all the way to Tucson Arizona and a deadly gunfight in the wild mountains.
The big question is, who will live and who else will die?
